# Quark > Quark is a logging bot for Discord. It records what happens in a server - deleted and edited messages, images and files, voice activity, invites, member changes and moderation actions - and posts each event to private log channels chosen by the server's staff. Quark is added to a server by its staff and set up with one command, /logging. It does not need the Administrator permission. The free plan includes every log type, a channel for each category of log, ignore rules and the live web viewer, and keeps the content of deleted messages up to 12 hours old. Quark Pro extends that to 4 weeks and adds 30 days of searchable log history on the web, CSV export, and the moderator behind server mutes and deafens. Quark is also called Quark Logger, and is made by Quark Bot Ltd. It is not related to QuarkXPress, Quarkus or the Quark browser. ## Pricing Quark has a free plan and two paid plans, priced in US dollars. Quark Pro Lite is $3 a month or $30 a year. It adds a channel for any single log type, custom log colours and format, and logs of actions done by or to bots. Quark Pro is $6 a month or $60 a year. It adds everything in Pro Lite, the content of deleted and edited messages up to 4 weeks old, 30 days of searchable log history on the web, CSV export, and the moderator behind server mutes and deafens. One subscription covers up to 10 servers. ## Guides - [Discord message logger](https://quark.bot/discord-message-logger): A Discord message logger is a bot that copies a message into a private log channel when it is deleted or edited, so moderators can still read what was said. Discord itself keeps no record of deleted messages. Quark is a message logger bot that also keeps the images, files and stickers that were attached. - [How to set up Discord server logs](https://quark.bot/discord-server-logs): To set up logs on a Discord server, create a private text channel for your staff, invite a logging bot such as Quark, and run /logging to choose that channel. Logging starts straight away and the whole setup takes about two minutes. A bot is needed because Discord's own audit log only records administrative actions, and only keeps them for 45 days. - [Discord audit log bot](https://quark.bot/discord-audit-log-bot): A Discord audit log bot posts each administrative action, such as a ban, kick, timeout or role change, to a channel in your own server as it happens. Discord's built-in audit log removes entries after 45 days. A mod log channel run by a bot like Quark keeps them for as long as the channel exists, with the moderator and the reason. - [Discord image logger](https://quark.bot/discord-image-logger): For moderators, a Discord image logger is a bot that keeps a copy of images and files posted in a server, so staff can still review them after they are deleted. Quark does this through Discord's official bot API. It is not an IP grabber: Discord does not share IP addresses or locations with bots. - [Discord invite logger](https://quark.bot/discord-invite-logger): To see who invited someone to a Discord server, add an invite logger bot such as Quark. Each time someone joins, Quark posts a log with the invite link they used and the member who created that link. It also flags accounts that look brand new, and logs when an invite is created or deleted. - [Discord voice channel logs](https://quark.bot/discord-voice-logs): No. Discord keeps no history of who joined or left a voice channel. Its audit log only notes when a moderator moves or disconnects someone. To get voice channel logs you add a logging bot such as Quark, which records every join, leave and move as it happens, along with how long each member stayed. - [Discord automations](https://quark.bot/discord-automations): Quark automations are rules that watch the logs Quark already makes for a Discord server and act when one matches. A rule reads as one sentence: when a log is produced, and only if some conditions are true, then do something. It can alert a channel and ping a role, add a notice to the log, copy the log to another channel or hold it back. - [Discord log formats](https://quark.bot/discord-log-formats): A Quark log format is a set of changes to how Quark's logs look in a Discord server. It can switch the layout to compact or plain text, change the colour and wording, hide or spoiler details, add lines and link buttons, and on Quark Pro rewrite a whole log as a template. It never changes which logs are sent or where. - [Discord scam link blocker](https://quark.bot/discord-scam-link-blocker): To block scam links on Discord, check every link against a list of known phishing addresses and act on a match. Quark's automations do this with a ready-made list of about 21,900 scam domains, refreshed daily. On any plan, a rule can flag the log, alert your moderators, delete the message and time out whoever posted it. Discord's AutoMod can stop a message as it is posted. - [Discord voice channel status filter](https://quark.bot/discord-voice-channel-status-filter): To filter voice channel statuses on Discord, watch for status changes and clear any status that breaks your rules. Quark logs every Voice Channel Status Updated event with who set it, and an automation rule can check the new status against a word list, Quark's swear word lists or its scam link list, then clear it or set a status you choose. - [Discord auto slowmode](https://quark.bot/discord-auto-slowmode): Discord has no automatic slowmode of its own, so a bot has to change it. With Quark's automations, a rule sets slowmode or locks a channel when a log matches, such as 10 members joining in a minute, and can undo it after a delay you choose. Quark keeps the undo in its database, so it happens even if the bot restarts. ## Comparisons What these pages say about other bots comes from each bot's own documentation, checked on 6 October 2026. - [Best Discord logging bots](https://quark.bot/best-discord-logging-bots): The best Discord logging bot depends on what else you need from it. Quark is built only for logging: it records 116 types of event and keeps a copy of deleted images and files. Dyno, Carl-bot, MEE6 and ProBot are general-purpose bots with a logging module, which suits a server that wants one bot for everything. Check how far back each can log a deleted message, because the limits differ a lot. - [Dyno alternative for logging](https://quark.bot/dyno-alternative): Quark is a Discord bot built only for logging, for servers that want more detail than a general-purpose bot's log module gives them. It logs deleted messages with their images and files, edits, voice activity, invites, and changes to roles, channels and server settings. Quark can replace Dyno's logs or run alongside Dyno. - [Carl-bot alternative for logging](https://quark.bot/carl-bot-alternative): Quark is a Discord bot built only for logging, and it runs alongside Carl-bot. Carl-bot's documentation says it logs an edited or deleted message only if the message was sent within the last hour. Quark logs the content of messages up to 12 hours old on the free plan and up to 4 weeks old on Quark Pro, and keeps deleted images and files. - [MEE6 alternative for logging](https://quark.bot/mee6-alternative): Quark is a Discord bot built only for logging, and it runs alongside MEE6. MEE6's help centre says its audit logs all go to one channel and are posted in bulk every 1 to 5 minutes. Quark logs events as they happen, sends each category of log to its own channel, and keeps deleted images and files as well as the text of deleted messages. - [ProBot alternative for logging](https://quark.bot/probot-alternative): Quark is a Discord bot built only for logging, and it runs alongside ProBot. ProBot's pricing page lists “Executioner in logs”, the person behind an action, and voice move and disconnect logs as premium features. Quark names the moderator and the reason on bans, kicks, timeouts and role changes on its free plan, and logs voice moves there too. - [YAGPDB alternative for logging](https://quark.bot/yagpdb-alternative): Quark is a Discord bot built only for logging, and it runs alongside YAGPDB. YAGPDB's documentation says it is not a logging bot: its message logs are web pages created with /logs or by a moderation action, and cannot be sent to a channel. Quark posts every deleted message, edit, voice event and moderation action to a log channel as it happens. - [Logger bot alternative](https://quark.bot/logger-bot-alternative): The Logger bot for Discord shut down in April 2024. Its website says the bot went offline and all stored data was wiped, and that the code stays on GitHub for people who want to host their own copy. Quark is a hosted Discord logging bot that covers the same ground: deleted and edited messages, voice activity, member changes and moderation actions. ## Product - [Pricing](https://quark.bot/pricing): What the free plan includes and what Quark Pro adds. - [Add Quark to a server](https://quark.bot/invite/web): The invite link. - [Dashboard](https://quark.bot/dashboard): Where a server's staff set up logging, read logs on the web and build automations. - [Documentation](https://docs.quark.bot): Commands, log types and settings. - [Changelog](https://quark.bot/changelog): What has changed in Quark, newest first. - [Status](https://status.quark.bot): Whether Quark is up, and its uptime history. - [Support](https://quark.bot/support): The Quark support server on Discord. ## Copyright Quark's text, design, logo and log icons are © Quark Bot Ltd.
